i noticed that there are a two versions of each Mike's title (not the remastered cd's)
first - nearly year and a half ago i bought a few of his albums in a big music store for the funny low price (that was "Crises","five miles out","heaven's open")
they all had DISKY name instead of virgin (virgin was also there, but smaller)
A few days later in other store i saw the exactly same looking "Crises" album, but more expensive, and it had slightly diffrent looking (the tracklist looked a bit diffrent). both had even a note about Mike (his 30 birthday). It was VIRGIN album
ANybody know what is the difference about DISKY and VIRGIN editions???they are almost the same, but their prices are wierd....do the VIRGIN editions soud better that DISKY ones???

Disky is a dutch record label in which Emi has some parts...
Since EMI owns Virgin, there must be transactions between Virgin and Disky... Virgin must have "given" some back catalogue to Disky, such as Mike's non-remastered records.

Yeah, Disky is a dutch company allright. And if you look here in the cd stores you can find nothing but Disky cd's of Mike. I have Orchestral Tubular Bells, Five Miles Out, Crises and Earth Moving on the Disky edition (some of them I also have on normal Virgin edition).

Indeed, the cd's are cheaper and they have a slight differences in the artwork. But the sound quality is the same as the normal cd's I guess, because they were launched before the remasters. Interesting though, I never actually thought about quality differences. Maybe I'm going to try soon!

Disky launched 2 packs of three MO CDs each one. But the record shops sold them as single CDs too. The content of each pack is:
Pack 1:
-Ommadawn
-The Orchestral Tubular Bells
-Earth Moving
Pack 2:
-Five Miles Out
-Crises
-Heaven's Open

I very much doubt you can find any other MO title with the Disky record label. And I suppose that the audio content is the same as the normal (non HDCD) releases of this records with only slight differences at the artwork. ;)

yes - these were the only MO titles from Disky that i saw in music stores...Funny thing is that Disky OMMADAWN looks more nice than Virgin release - the cover is not so blue coloured and it has also a nince Ommadawn sign beneath the cd case...... i sadly have non-hdcd old cd release )-:
