hi guys,
         i was just wondering if anyone else watched the prog on Viv Stanshall that was on bbc2 the other night, i taped it and watched it the other night, it was a very interesting documentry, i didnt realise that he was such a troubled man, but also a genius and very funny.
there was no mention of the instrument intoductions on TB if anyone was wondering

No, they more or less skipped over the 70s, so there was no Mike content.  Shame - it ould have done with another half hour or so really to tell the story properly.  Most of the time focused on the Bonzos (fair enough) and his last years, but there was this yawning gap in the middle that they tried to write off by saying that Viv himself couldn't really remember much about the 70s, due to his valium addiction.

Yeah I saw it, it was an interesting documentary. I suppose his MCing on TB was just a small part of a very full and colourful career, quite a famous small part mind you. It did dawn on me when watching that documentary just how much a part of that wonderful mad early 70's eclectisism Tubular Bells is or was, and how removed Mike is from that now, shame really, still life moves on.

yes i agree it was a good docu ,and viv certainly was quite an exsentric character,i read somewhere when mike was doing tub2 he went looking for vivian,and found him in his bath tub ,with his pot plants.
