It's true, and it is sold in Germany too. I just walked by a local car vendor and saw the Amarok. I was really temped to take a screwdriver and get these beautiful letters :-)

Today I drove behind an Amarok !

I would like to know if the name of the car Amarok is inspired by the album. Maybe a top-manager of Volkswagen likes Mike too.

@ oGUH: that would be Amaroq, Inuit for wolf (= leader of the pack). I think that Amarok with a final K was invented by Mike, and everyone who copied it after Amarok (the album) came out should rightly fear some suing action by Mike, IMHO. But I also think that Mike is completely uninterested in all usages of the word other than his own. :)

@ Sentinel (Michael): I think that the name was inspired by the concept of the Inuit Amaroq as "leader of the pack" - just like this. :D But I think that both of them (Amarok Drywall Division and Volkswagen) both copied the -k spelling from Mike.
