Id say the Dunlop crybaby wah pedal, standard entry level wah, it sounds like it in the build up of TBiii, that and knowing mike he'd just buy what does the job, he doesnt need the Dimebag darrell wah pedal with the camo paint! heheheh but really thats just a guess!   -------------- Grand piano. Could be a rackmount effect or eq controled with a midi pedal, but I dont know. Have a look at him playing bass for TB1 on the elements DVD, hes using a wah there. I dont have the disk to hand so I cant check, but Vox wah's were used a lot back then. Back to top

jonnyw Group: Members Posts: 522 Joined: Oct. 2005 Posted: Sep. 18 2006, 13:06 Ive used a Crybaby 535Q and it has a very wide sweep compared to most, i can see what you mean, but i dont think its a rackmount, it sounds to analogue to be controlled by MIDI, maybe im worong but you can hear the EQ changes sometimes. Anders Group: Members Posts: 4 Joined: Jan. 2006 Posted: Nov. 17 2006, 10:01 If you look on the BBC-version of TB (1976) you can see that both Mike and Steve Hillage are using Colorsound Wah/fuzz-pedals. During the "cello"-section i think Mike turns the fuzz-effect on... The fuzz-sound is very different from the fuzz-guitar parts on the original TB. Anders Back to top

Thea Cochrane Group: Musicians Posts: 445 Joined: Nov. 1999 Posted: Mar. 15 2007, 13:35 The score for Tubular Bells II mentions an "expression processor - for the guitar, using expression pedal with Roland guitar processor GE16 or 8 (gives slight 'wah' effect)." Most multi-effects for guitars have some kind of wah on them, or Mike could be recording pedal movements over MIDI and use it to write automation on an EQ in Logic or whatever. Back to top

slind1962 Group: Members Posts: 7 Joined: April 2003 Posted: April 05 2007, 05:12 I'm a guitar player too and although I don't know for sure, I can accept the theory that he does post EQ wah effects as the sweep on the notes is always very smooth and regular, unlike pedal wah which by it's very human nature, varies with the musician.
