...but it's a bit more than moving house.

I've lived in the UK all my life (since 1980).  When I met an Australian and we decided to get married, it gave us the chance to move to Australia.  We visited back in May and I loved it.  A few hours ago, our flight landed in Sydney.  So we are now officially living in Sydney, Australia!

I doubt that will change my online habits though, so you probably won't notice much of a difference :)

I'm curious though.  Would you consider moving abroad?  Where would you go?

If I moved abroad my favoured locations in no particular order would be    1   CHAMOINX  Mt Blanc   Lake Annecy Area France
               2   GRANADA   area Southern Spain
               3   Salzburg    AUSTRIA
All these 3 are  near Outstanding Countryside and have a fair Splash of Culture Bonus Pts to

Hey, that's nice!!!Have fun in the new house :)

I'd like to go to the welsh hills, south of france or some brittish Island, like the one where they filmed the Bergerac series... don't know what it's called, but I'd like to go there and retire and just make music and record...

The font seems smaller in your messages now, Ben - being so far away, YOU MIGHT HAVE TO TYPE A BIT LOUDER.

Where in Sydney are you mate? that's Aussie speak. I was born in Darlinghurst and lived in Revesby, where the famous Revesby Workers Club resides, and Arncliffe.

Since I was a child and saw the movie Brigadoon with Gene Kelly, I have wanted to live in Scotland, or visit it at the very least, but Hergest Ridge sounds lovely as well. Me and Galadriel could be neighbours.

Thanks Sentinel!

TubularBelle - we are near Penrith.  By the way, if we had stayed in the UK, we might have moved to Scotland.  The north of the UK is less expensive and more friendly than the south.

I would love to live in Scotland. It is a great countrym, it has some fantastic views up in the Highlands, the people up there can be really friendly, and most of my relatives live up there. It seems like the perfect place. In fact, one of the Universities I've applied to is up there, but it's not a first option.

I would also love to see Hergest Ridge some time. I've always wanted to see the place that was the inspiration for my favourite MO Album. I hope I will not be disappointed, I love peaceful countrysides. Tranquility these days is rare, and just a few spots on this planet can encapsulate such a peaceful atmosphere, and I hope Hergest Ridge is one of those places.

I dont live to far away from "Hergest" bout 30 miles..Its nice out that way in the Summer and on Clear Days.. But the Mist does drop over the Winter on the Hills.. Any of the Welsh Border Area  right up to  the Mynd  is cool....  Hergest is but one of many similar places in that Area but of course the only one with a MO Album to its name :D

Hergest Ridge.

I don't think I'd want to live abroad ,as I'd end up missing England, however I like to  visit Northern Europe,Germany,Scandanavia, I'd love to go there for Summer Solstice,  seems odd it still being light at midnight.   I'd also wouldn't mind visiting Canada/USA or Austrialia, but I don't thinkI'd be very good on long distance flights.

I don't think I'd be able to move near Hergest Ridge, unless I happened to win  the Lottery.  Don't forget Inkanta, as I'msure she'd like to live there too.
Unfortunately looking on theMcCartney's website it would appear that The Beacon is sold

 www.mccartneys.co.uk. DAMMITT!!!

Oh yes Ithink if I did come upon the Lottery I'd have one extravagance and buy myself an Aston Martin DB9  ,I've fallen in love with this car :D .www.astonmartin.com/ENG/thecars/db9
I'd have a more economical car for every day use too, as I don't want to buy lots of petrol as most of the cost is tax,and this stupid govenment makes enough money out of me as it is :(.

Strange that Aston Martin link isn't working :/ ,I've typedit correctly , I'll try it  again www.astonmartin.com/ENG/thecars/db9

I would move to Spain or Greece.
I dont like cold and snow so Norway is not such a good place for me..
the best would be to live here in the summer and have a summer house in spain in the winter.

I was watching Country file on BBC1 this morning, John Craven and Co were in the cider apple orchards of Herefordshire  :D.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Seing this has made me long to move tothat part of the world.
Did you knowthat Herefordshire produces 50% of the UK's cider, other areas quite well known for cider production are Somerset (pronounced Zummerzet by locals),Devon, Cornwall and also Norfolk.

Needless to say I didn't win the Lottery last night, otherwise I'd  be arranging viewings of property in Herefordshire with estate agents.     :)  :D .
