I heard both the original version of this and the new one, and I think they're both pretty cool. I was going to offer a suggestion about the guitar playing and was waiting until I had time to send an example to you, but I've not managed that...so... What I'll say is that what you've done there works very well. I like the extra fattening that the distorted power chords give to it. My suggestion was related to something I've experimented with a few times over the past few years, and that's gaining a more Indian kind of feel from western instruments like the guitar. It's something which you might like to experiment with too, as I'd think that some playing of that kind would work very nicely here. The trick is to work on making transitions between notes as fluid as possible, sliding and bending between them. Indian classical music uses no vibrato, though you might want to still use a very small variation in touch (if that makes any sense to you) just to stop the notes from sounding sour. I understand this sounds really vague, but it's not something that can be summed up into a few sentences easily! Ask me more, if you're interested.
Anyway, interesting stuff!
