Well, call this a late reply , but I didn't want to start a new thread, and I've just managed to get a copy of this tape. Those who are interested may probably have already found somewhere else that this movie contains sniplets of Orchestral Tubular Bells, Ommadawn, Incantations (including an unreleased part with added 'vocal chords' ) and an orchestral version of Hergest Ridge, not to forget Portsmouth during the final credits. My vague hope to extract some music worth recording from the tape was soon destroyed by the facts that: a) the music score was heavily suffering from jitter in most sections (which I wouldn't blame my video tape machine for) b) the music, as to be expected, is mostly overdubbed by comments and original sounds c) the music is heavily cut and rearranged in order to follow the 'plot' of the movie. Talking about plot, I'm wondering if it's Mike's music or the film footage that's more patched together. Except for the big arch of launch - in space - landing - on the moon - returning to earth - exploring the solar system, there's hardly any chronological order in the footage, happily mixing footage from Mercury to Gemini to Apollo to Skylab, in space, during ground training, animated sequences or panned still pictures. Besides this chronological incoherence, however, the footage is really awesome, taking e.g. super-slowmotion of the staurn-V launch, CM-LEM rendezvous, moon-walking, etc... - footage too time-demanding to make it into any TV documentation...
