My top three at the moment is:

1. Music Of The Spheres. This album will either be Mike's grand comeback or will firmly establish him in the completely irrelevant category. After Light + Shade he has to deliver -- or give up. So far what I have heard of the album sounds really really really exciting BUT I haven't heard a single note yet, therefore everything could change...

2. Disco 4 by Pet Shop Boys :) I can't help it. The rumours are aplenty, the facts are nowhere to be found. Tracklisting, cover, contents of the album are not available anywhere, yet it is available for pre-order in almost all the online shops. At least with MOTS we know it will be orchestral and it will be a collaboration with Jenkins, etc. With Disco 4 there is just no information apart from the fact it is coming...

3. Songs of Mass Destruction by Annie Lennox. Diva is one of the best albums ever, but Medusa and Bare disappointed in their vain attempts to be soul-baring music that touches the very depths of your heart. In my case it proved to be boring music that touches the very depths of my boredom. The new album, again, will either confirm that I lost all interest in Annie Lennox -- or be pure brilliance.

So! Any forthcoming albums that you can't wait to hold in your grubby paws (or in case you're a downloader, to, err, see the download progress bar approaching 100%)?

Oh my god...a new release by Lennox in October, I have so waited for that one. I only have one album, Meduza, but I really like her very special voice.  :)

Mike's forthcoming new album Music Of The Spheres ofcourse! ;)

Francis Rimbert's forthcoming new album 'Snap Shot'.
He has been Jean Michel Jarre's left hand since the 80's and I never really discovered his own music until last year with his newly released compilation 'Sounds Of Vintage vol.1 and 2 where he's presenting older tracks he made for commersials etc. or just for fun. He has been playing piano and church organ since a 5 year old and his latest album is called 'Double Face' on wich one track even includes some tones from Tubular Bells. His style have been somewhere between Jazz/pop and New Age until just resently when he added some rock guitar to his electronic sound. Hopefully Snap Shot will be available through his own production company Czen production (http://www.czenprod.com/index.php?c=artiste) or iTunes.

Conjure One is releasing a new album before the end of this year...pretty much all I know. I'm just hoping it will not be too much "club-disco-yippee kai yay-techno" but more ambient as he have done in his previous albums. I really like many of his tracks.

I can only think of MotS at the moment. The few other albums that I had explicitly been looking forward to have been released by now. A new Kraftwerk album would be nice (I really liked Tour de France Soundtracks), but heaven only knows when that will happen.

I'm sooo anxious for MOTS.Let's see what is going to happen... MO going classical and playing acoustic guitar(classical + flamenco) + piano,no electric guitars on it...

Can I have more descriptions/be pointed towards samples of Conjure One, Alter Bridge and Joe Bonamassa? :)

Velodynamic -- before the new Lennox album arrives, be sure to check out Diva (it's available for 5-7.50 euro in the Netherlands and I guess that's more or less the price it will sell for everywhere now) -- an astounding classic. Marvellous album, one of the best ever. I am hoping for SoMD to be half as good...

Well, for Conjure One (wich I discovered only weeks ago through the internet radio "Last.fm"). The other ones I haven't heard about... To start with you can i.e. have a look at http://www.myspace.com/conjureone and the official website but believe me, the whole net is full of this with an easy "googling". He has made much more stuff that I can't find samples too the "legal" way without simply buying some of his albums. ;)

I was right in the middle of my teenage when "Diva" was released so I remember her "Broken Glass" song and others from dance floors and MTV. But sure...I'm also a man with iTunes so I will have a "flash back" look and refresh my mind again.  :p
Thank you for the reminder Navaira.  :)

Music of the spheres is my high light of the year by far and there's nothing wrong with Light and Shade i thought it is a great album.

Music of the spheres plus Tubular Bells 2003 and the Exposed DVD, which I don't yet have.

Are there other music artists other than Mike Oldfield? I wasn't aware. ;-)

It has been out on the French iTunes store (+ only a few more digital music stores in Europe) for over one week now. The only way to buy it if you're lucky. No release on any "physical" media is planned for it so far. The rest of this single release is right now to be found as mp3's in the p2p jungle.
A true shame really...'cos it "rocks"! ;)

Obviously MotS is number one (and the only one I know release date).  Others that I know I will get might have album this as some work already started or is done.  Those are new albums by The Hush Sound, Muse and Queen & Paul Rodgers.
