Saw a great gig at the Birmingham NIA earlier this month - The Australian Pink Floyd Show. In the absence of a Floyd reunion, they are the next best thing.

Seeing Hard-Fi next month at Brixton Academy, Roger Waters at Hyde Park on July 1st then later the same month, off to see Foo Fighters supported by Queens of the Stone Age and Motorhead, also at Hyde Park. Got Inner circle tickets for Foo Fighters. Can't wait!  :D

NWOBHM band Saxon in Manchester at the Academy 2 26.04.06.  I had to wear ear protectors, but those guys can ROCK!  The audience was ranged from 15 to 50, great stuff.

Well, you had to ask!  The only other gig plans for this year is the Guitarfest in Birmingham in September!

I've seen David Gilmour and I'm yet to see Roger Waters and The Moody Blues... and maybe I forget something now... but this springs to mind. :)
Hehehe... it's good watching bands with guys that are nearly 3 times my age :p
so far it's been awsome this year ;)
btw. love your new nickname

I'm considering seeing Ian Anderson. That might be the closest I'll ever get to seeing a prog rock great.

Mike Oldfield - maybe that's wishful thinking on my part  :D .   I haven't been to any gigs as yet this year, sad I know.   Hopefully now I'm earning I'll get the opportunity to go and see a few gigs.

The last gig I went to was to see Lindisfarne, not once but twice in 2002.   Cripes,is it really that long ago since I've been to a live performance :O !!!!

I guess that's what can happen if you've spent so many years looking after a disabled partner,  I would have to check out each venue for it's disabled access, orif he didn't want to go,would have to try and arrange  alternative sitting service.

Can't wait to see and hear Echoes live!!!!!
My second concert to see is another brick in floyd, Roger Waters! Dark side of the moon live.
Could it be better??
Only missing as always is the best man, Mike Oldfield of course.. But only time will tell  ;)

Good stuff! I didn't know they were still around. Those were wicked times with Samson, Judas Priest, Diamond Head and Def Leppard too!

Just seen Steeleye Span at Colne Megastadium (well, y'know, that municipal hall of theirs is REALLY BIG - it has an UPSTAIRS section, and everything).
No plans for future shows at present.

This may qualify as truly pathetic--think the last concert was Hilary Duff (with my youngest kids). <Rewinds brain to verify> Can only think of the symphony. I keep missing concerts (Sigur Ros, U2, Yes, Rush), but hmmm......nope...it seems to have been Hilary. :/ Actually, it wasn't all *that* bad as concerts go. What really freaked me out were the mothers who had on Hilary Duff t-shirts along with their kids. That is just wrong. ;)

I have been watching quite a few concert DVDs these past few months, so I *feel* like I've been to various gigs, but alas..... and....what's even sadder, I have no plans to go to any in the forseeable future. But...plans can change.  :)

Well....back to my May Day baskets.....

That must've been good for your kids though.

I've done the same as you in the past and bought loads of concert DVDs to watch and keep - espexially when I couldn't get to gigs - I felt as though I haven't totally missed out then.

After almost nine years of waiting I finaly saw Depeche Mode one month ago in Rotterdam! That was absolute great! No other concerts plans for this year though.. because of the lack of money... Unless Mike decides to play ofcurse.. I have always money for that!  :p

Was going to see Billy Brag here in Edinburgh this week but couldn't get tickets. Going to see Carl Cox and Fatboy Slim live at Loch Ness in June, should be an amazing gig if the weather holds out and the midges don't attack. Groove Armada live in London in July. Went to see tons of gigs last year but doing less this year coz the tinitus is getting worse, Chemical Brothers two nigths in a row last December wasn't big or clever.

ps The Big Bell End what was War of the Worlds live like? Sounded like a right laugh, I wished Id got tickets but they were pretty pricey if I remember rightly.

The closest thing to a gig I have been to this year is buying the Gorillaz live on stage dvd (in Manchester I believe). But on a smaller scale I saw the Original 'Angels' on April 27th but was more impressed by the support band called 'Granny Flat' which consisted of an 11 year old drummer and 14 year old singer, lead guitarist and female bass guitarist. They were fabulous. There were several children at the Club and I was very embarrassed at the end of the night when The Angels (who are in their 50's) did their biggest hit 'Am I ever gonna see your face again' which was responded to by a screaming crowd of grandmas and grandpas yeliing 'No way, get fcuked, fcuk off'! This Friday I am going to see 'Puppetry of the Penis'.

I'm going to see Prodigy,Sven Väth and Armin van Buuren at a electronic music festival here on May 13th...last year,Pete Tong from BBC's Radio 1 played there on the same festival and rocked a lot.

Sorry - I'm going to look a bit thick here... but what's a NOWBHM?

Tony :)

To Toby, sorry it's took this long to reply. The War of the World's live at Newcastle Arena.
Well in all honesty I would have to say the show was stunning, a real spectacle, a full orchestra, a large band and performer's in victorian garb. A giant tripod fighting machine on stage with a backdrop of the biggest movie screen ever bombarding the audience with CGI images in time with the music, it was a knockout.
As for expensive, I went with my wife and daughter's and I would say that the night cost around and over 300 quid, so yes fairly dear.
