Part 1 sounds like a collection of different pieces made into a single, long track, whereas part 2 has a much more organic quality to it, the different parts fit together with each other and the whole composition in a far better way. Sysiyo is right, it doesn't flow like Part Two does, but rather it is a collection of individual pieces, and I love all of those pieces! Maybe I like more sections in Part One than in Part Two, but I think that if P2 was too similar to P1 I would end a little bored; it's for me the best way to continue. I surely wouldn't like it so much if it was the opposite. I fell in love with the last part of part I (the part where he adds another instrument each time), way back when it first came out in '73, and the love hasn't gone over. But my opinion is that the Bell of Tubular Bells 2 is much better than the finale of the Bell, although they are similar. Back to top

Also love the build up to where Viv Stanshall introduces the instruments , and Viv's delivery of this.
