Nah, serious... eh...

I'm not sure there will be someone just like him to replace him... I mean, I don't know of any band that I think could be the new Beatles, or Elvis.

I think bands will come and go, and some original ones can't be replaced.
But then that's just my humble opinion...  :)

Hi Kay,

Yes I considered that - just as elusive as the old amn himself though!

Also - which one, does he not have 2?

There are several great musicians at this board who post their creations in the Fan Tracks forum, so that would be a good place to start.  Who knows, maybe some of the musicians here will become famous for what they do! :)

God knows who will become the next mike, im not sure theres anyone who can replce him though, to be honest, anyone could come out of knowhere, just like mike did!

You just never know!

but there are some great composers here on the board, stefan (piltdownboyonhorseback22)there being one in particular!

also Iksion,

get yourself an acount at - www.soundclick.com there you can create a profile for yourself and upload your music for anyone to come and hear it!

But again back onto the subject at hand, ive never met anyone who can play an instrument quite like mike, i can only try my best to do anything near the great things he has done!

but again, there are some amazing musicians here on the forum!

Mike has 4 sons. Dougall and Luke to Sally Cooper who would be in their early 20's now, Noah to Anita Hegerland who is about 14 and Jake with Fanny who is just 2.

But are any of them musically inclined?

I don't mind who takes the reins as long as it isn't someone from IDOL.

I know, Eric Mongrain, a Canadian. Wanna hear his work, check out my LemKuiper thread, he looks pretty young, early 20's perhaps.

I remember once I've read that Dougal and Luke needed more time to be part of his daddy's band,so it's not impossible,it just depends on daddy Mike  ;)

There will always be similar artists to Mike, but no-one will replace him, he is and always has been unique.

OK - the prize goes to you Mr JamesFloyd.... Best answer so far in my opinion.

One used plectrum on it's way.  Although it has been used to strum a certain 1957 Gibson Les Paul Junior TV.    :D   :D
