This is a 30-minute "song-cycle", written for an unfinished story written as a collaboration between several Simpsons fans. It's Simpsons fanfiction. The story is quite wicked, and the main character is Lisa (just like in 90% of Simpsons fanfiction). Being member of the group and one of the writers, I began writing these songs for the story. This is just the first half of the album; the other half is still on the works.

The link to the songs is here. You can get them in 11 separate files or 2 big 15-minute files. They are in 128kbps MP3. Hope you enjoy it. :)

If you're curious, the story is here. I am "Mr Snake". ;)

I'm wondering whether I didn't get any comments is because the post isn't visible on here, or something like that - or people just aren't interested. I can see why. ;)

Maybe it would be better if I linked the mp3's directly. Well, so here it goes.

Part 1

Part 2

Both files are about 15 Mb, i.e., 15 minutes long. Part 1 has 5 songs, and Part 2 has 6. I intend on making more 30 minutes of music to the suite, so it's not finished yet.

yeah, definitely, i hate those websites where you have to click 1000 times just to download something. downloading right now, will make a comment later. :)

EDIT:
ok, this is not bad besides the midi-soundblaster-like instruments. i couldn't really enjoy it because of that. but it has potential. ;)

I haven't heard any stuff from you. I just realised that. :)

I downloaded your first big file, and allthough I think you've got some nice idea's, the computer game quality really is annoying. Also your toying around with the pan doesn't always work. I don't know if it's just me, but having one sound coming from one side, or constantly shifting from one side to another, is annoying. Also at around 5:10, those melody's really don't go together.

But again, some idea might work well if you'd get some decent sound. So don't lose faith or anything. ;)

Maybe this will clear some things off (or maybe it won't, so what the heck), but the suite was, in fact, entirely written and performed using MIDI, hence the "videogame-quality". In this particular case, I guess it would be a feature rather than a flaw, being written for a wacky Simpsons fanfiction and all... okay, this excuse didn't work. :D

I say, I definitely did not try to aim at a realistic effect with these tunes. In my rock music album, I did try to make it resemble an actual band a little more, but not here. I guess I can't escape this situation, being the computer my only tool for recording music. But if anyone has Brian Eno's number, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks for the comments, anyway. I guess it is a fact that my efforts at making melodies were badly overshadowed by the computer-production and the storytelling. Oh well, there's still Musics For Highways. :D

Just wanted to tell you that Part 3 of the suite is available! It's no more than 10 minutes long now, and the first song might be one of my best ever. If you're interested, download! ;)
