www.mikeoldfield.de has been updated with new photos of Mike. Photo 1, photo 2, photo 3, photo 4, photo 5, photo 6.

CDstarts.de lists the new album as Light and Shade to be released on Sep 26.

(Thanks, Heiner.)

"Light and Shade" and Quicksilver's title on the garbage... :)
Good news.
Light and Shade is 3d parameters, did they have a relation with 3DMAX or Ligtwawe  :p

I saw the photo. Well, Suzuki is a new Mike Oldfield's sponsor ?

MoonLIGTH SHADOW et Ligth and Shade

Mike like the ligth effect ?
:p

I like the new title "Light and Shade". Mike seems to have an affinity with light and shadows as many of his songs have such allusions. I guess "light' refers to the more uptempo tracks and "shade" to the more moodier ones. I'm only surprised that there's no real advertizing/information of the album and the release date is less than 2 months away!  :/

Ahan,I do think that also, the album name sums up what's on it.

I think its quite a good title. Simple and descriptive. Much better than 'Quicksilver'. Hopefully it won't be long before we get some more info/tracklisting/album art etc etc.

"Light and Shade" was Jimmy Page's concept for the very first Zeppelin album, and for the whole career of Zeppelin, I may say. ;) Mike stealing again? :D

Light and Shade (Vangelis??).. great title. If the album is divided in two parts.. Disc one: LIGHT; (AND) Disc two: SHADE. It sounds well.. but will the two discs sound also well? :)

Although Light and Shade is a good title, i cant help thinking that it is unlikely as , if anywhere, it would have appeared on Mike's site or Tubular.net first?
I still think its better that Quicksilver, but i wont hold my breath untill the title is confirmed  ;)

Yeah I've been thinking that as well. I does seem a bit weird that there has been no offical confirmation from anywhere so far. However 'Light and Shade' does fit in with what Mike has said about the albums general direction. They must have got their info from somewhere.

Hmm, Mike is looking rougher this time... biker style! At his age! Like it. ;)

Although I hope he doesn't crash himself into a wall or something. Those bikes are also deadly machines.

Light and shade.... hmmm... don't know... doesn't really matter though, I'm more interested in the music.

Fantastic... Mike looks GREAT!!!  just as blue dolphon pointed out... and btw if that is really your pic blue dolphin you are (HOT!!!;)... the new look is the best i've seen Mikey since TB3.  It suits the mood too of the album if it is to be a mixed album.

As for the title... I thought Quicksilver was alittle too kiss ass... clever... but kiss ass.  Light and Shade does seem abit more appropriate to Mike's ever increasing change in mood and melody.  But, again, as blue dolphin pointed out... in the end, it's the music that matters not the title to the album!

Very pleased so far... now MICHAEL... please just some small snippits would be hella nice!!! :)

The new look gives Mike an edgy look and suggests to me that the his playing will have a ruff edge as well... CROSSING FINGERS!

peace out

YEEs.
Allthough I have no particular intrest in motorcycles, clothes he is wearing or how his hair is like, I do think M.O. looks like he is in control of what he is doing(as always, now in the twentyfirstcentury.) . Ofcourse these are only photographs, but I find that his eyes tell a lot-and eyes indeed are the  place to look to. As some of you already pointed out, the title of the new album isnt as important as THE MUSIC!

I find it so strange that Mike looks younger in these new photos than his last photo shoots... what is it?

Is it make-up? Is it Photoshop? Is it Botox? Or has he been working out and some vitalising Q10 Nivea creme on his face for fresher look! (ahum)... sorry ;)

"Light And Shade"... descriptive, not that clever.

"There's no shade, really. Matter of fact, it's all shady".
