I think there are two different types of compilation we might like.

The first could contain all your favourite tracks, including excerpts and any song that you really enjoy.  Imagine that no other compilation of Mike's music existed and you were putting together your absolute favourite tracks.  1 CD, 2 CDs or 3 CDs... it's up to you.

The second is more of a collector's item.  All the tracks that never appeared on a studio album, b-sides and other rarities.  But not live versions or alternative versions that have appeared on earlier albums.

Also, look at other people's suggestions and see if you'd like to get a copy of their albums! ;)

Something I'd like to mention was rised a time ago by Tubularman, and I like his idea very much.
The idea is to release a package of all Mike's 12" singles in one box. Of course no CDs. All vinyl.
A nice addition to this would be all non-released 7" singles, also on vinyls.

IMHO that's perferct ;)

cheers

I think there is no need for another compilation album ever again, except if it would feature only and really ONLY UNRELEASED material, or material not seen on cd.
Live versions will do as well, if it's as good as complete side4.
